iPhone 4 Turns off randomly?
I also restored it once and from a backup.
I don't have any other problems such as screen defects or signal loss.
Please help, Thanks.

I have the same problem as you guys, my iPhone 4s randomly turns off, but there's a bit of difference, when it turns off, i can't turn it on anymore, i have to wait for the phone itself to go low battery, since when its lowbat and i try to turn it on the battery icon pops up, this has been happening around 2 weeks aftr i bought the phone, and it has been atleast 1 or 2 months i thnk since i bought the phone, and i'm afraid to go to the apple store since they might say its my problem that i dropped it or something ( i havent dropped it so far).
I'm having the same problem as everyone else. Phone shuts off at random times without any real reason. Sometimes it will just turn back on, but I usually have to reset it. Very annoying! I wish I would have stuck with my 3Gs, at least it was reliable.
And just to note...I have tried to turn iCloud off, but it did not help.
Well, just short of two months without any problems, my iPhone 4 has turned itself off. 4 times in two days.
Has anyone seen an Apple rep even acknowledge this problem?
I was adamant that turning off iCloud had solved my problem. I can't even turn my phone on to check now.
anyone having this issue after the iOS 6 upgrade? it's so frustrating. I JUST got my phone replaced last week because the volume stopped working (hardware defect in iPhone4S) - I really don't want to go in again to get yet another phone. Randomly shuts itself off and then you have to do a hard reboot to get it to come on. Multiple times a day.
After a couple trips to the Apple store I ended up having to get my phone replaced. No problems since then and I haven't updated to the new OS.
Well that's bloody great for all you guys with warranty, but how about people without it ? I upgraded to this BS iOS6, and now it's ******. Keeps turning off randomly. Thanks for nothing Apple.. not even any fix for this..
calm down mate. iPhone 5 is the fix. way better phone. imo no point mucking arround with the old one now.
why the **** do you even post on these forums? When your response to someone with a TECHNICAL PROBLEM is just to tell them to calm down and BUY A NEW ONE. This is why Apple has such a bad reputation, the support is abysmal, and they rely on guys like you to provide their 'support'.
What a joke.
mate your phone is a sunk cost. you saved your bucks on not getting the extended apple care warranty. go get the new one and be happy.
This is a stupid attitude to have, I actually bought it second hand and it had zero problems before I put ios 6 on it as reccommended by Apple. Clearly this was a mistake.
I will now have to jailbreak it and downgrade it to ios 5.1.1, your suggestions don't help at all they are totally idiotic.
Oh your phone has a software glitch? BUY A NEW ONE.. you are a huge joke man.
dude its a hardware fault its not becuase you upgraded it to ios6
jailbreak it and downgrade it to ios 5.1.1 isnt going to fix it, just a wast of time and will make things worse.
best chance you have is replacing the battery like i and everyone else on here has discussed, did you even read through the thread.
apples support is excillent. if your covered under warranty they just replace the phone and dont muck arround trying to fix it up. unfortunate you brought it second hand but what do you expect them to do about it when its a fault?
Please just stop posting. The phone didn't have the problem before the ios upgrade.
Dear All
I also had the same problem iPhone 4 switching off automatically. I had purchased from Canada unlocked in June 2011. I strugled for two months. I tried all software solutions nothing worked. On 1-Sept12; I changed battery and since then not even a once it has switched off randomly. It was 100% battery problem.
I've downgraded mine today to 5.1 and haven't had the problem since. Same battery.
I can't imagine it's truly the battery (but awesome if it worked for some folks.) My 4s is literally 3 weeks old. Only started happening after OS6 upgrade. Guess I'll take it in to Apple even though this will be my 2nd trip in a month. should've known better than to start that upgrade when it appeared - it was the day before the 5 came out - should've known. I agree - buying the new 5 and sinking that money in isn't the answer - when you have a new phone and new battery it should not be randomly shutting off and having to hard boot it to get it turn back on.
Appreciate all the helpful responses though.
