iPhoto cant import video from iphone 4

Followed Grognard's suggestions but still no luck in iPhoto. However, after restarting my iphone, I was able to import the video through Preview (File->Import from iPhone). It was slow but it worked eventually.

It worked for my iPhone 4, but with one first video. Again failed with another.

tbone27 solution solved my problem too. Although I did use picture capture (Digitale Bilder in German). Just using direct USB connection instead of an USB hub

i read every single solution and nothing worked, then just as i gave up hope i read a comment about using a different cable, as a last resort i tried it and it actually worked, id been using a cable that came free with some headphones from ebay.. the official cable that came with the iphone worked as soon as i tried importing with it plugged in

Hi Grognard! I randomly had 4 videos out of 40 over videos that couldn't be imported and i followed your instructions and 2 of the 4 succeeded and the other 2 failed again. I repeated it again ( sounds so weird as if it'll work) then the other 2 miracuously worked! Haha thanks so much! 🙂

Not to undermine anyone else's suggestions but I was still having issues with my iphoto and my iphone4s after trying a couple of them.

I used Image Capture from Applications and it just skipped the broken images/video.

For those still struggling try inserting a USB stick to your mac, then plug in your iphone and open "image capture". By doing this I could save the huge MOV file directly to my USB.
