LISTEN TO MY STORY, PLEASE.

So this past Tuesday (7/6) I reserved my iPhone 4, and was told I was put on the reservation list. I recieved my confirmation e-mail saying:

Your iPhone 4 will be here before you know it. Look for an email from us letting you know it's ready to pick up. When you come in, we'll have Specialists ready to help you set up your iPhone 4 so it's just the way you like it. We look forward to seeing you at the store.
Sincerely,
The Apple Retail Store team

So I started seeing people call it the "Priority list" and wondered if that was different from the "Reservation list". So I spoke with someone at the apple store, and the man told me that I want to be on the PRIORITY LIST, so he set me up on the priority list. I asked him if I will receive a confirmation e-mail notifying me that I am on the list. He said NO, I will only receive one email when it is available.

So does anyone know about this?
Was I on the right list, or they the same thing or what?

I was placed on the PRIORITY LIST today (7/9) and was told it's looking like a 3 week wait.

Here is my story:
Called local Apple store (South Hills Village) on June 26th, and was told that they would be receiving more iphones the upcoming week and asked if I would like to be put on the priority list. I agreed and here it is over 2 weeks later and no phone. I got the initial we will be in toch shortly email and nothing since. I called on Tuesday and Friday of this past weeek and basically was told that they have phones but it is taking a while for them to work their way thru the list. I asked where I was on the list and the girl could not tell me. So how do they know who gets a phone next? I have pretty much given up on the situation and I have lost a lot of respect for Apple. I have always held Apple to a very high standard, but they are not handling this very professionaly. What they should have done is given you a reservation number and that way you could check what nuber they are serving and at least give you an idea of what the situation is.

Just FYI. I'm at least as frustrated as everyone here. And I agree that Apple has handled this very poorly.

My story so far is:

Store: Walnut Creek, CA
Ordered: 7/3
Moving up the the list email: 7/6

Nothing since.

The moving up the list emails are bull*$%^. Duh, it's a list. That's the way they work. How about an email telling us who's picking up their iPhones today and when did they get on the list. At least that would give us a clue on expectations.
