Broken screen repair for IPhone 4?

My wife had her iPhone 4 slip out of a pocket this evening and land screen first in the street. The screen pretty much shattered although the phone is still in perfect working order. Any idea how much it costs to get a new one put on by Apple? If we repair though them would it affect the warranty? Fortunately we kept our old 3GS phones so she can use it while being repaired.

Good to note to always call. Talked to Customer Service who told me that had I called them first they could have given me a "CS" code for a free replacement. But because the Genius Bar made another determination, they couldn't override it. Blah. Expensive lesson.

I cracked my 5s screen. After reading comments on this thread, I called customer service and was told no. They gave me the same $269 quote. I asked to speak with a supervisor and she told me the same thing. Not willing to give up, I called back and asked to speak with a manager again. After giving me the same quotes, I went on and on and on about being a loyal apple customer and how it seems that a "courtesy" repair depends on who you get on the phone. I was put on hold and then he came back with good news! I am taking my phone in to be replaced at no charge!
