Please help -can't uninstall or install iTunes - Error code 2330

I tried to open up iTunes 9.1.1 today and got a message that windows was trying to configure iTunes. Midway through, i got an error message: "An error occurred while attempting to create directory: C:\documents and settings\all users\application data\apple computer\iTunes\SC info.

So i then tried to download the new version of iTunes (9.2), and got a message that "the installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with the package. The error code is 2330."

Then I followed the trouble shooting steps on the support site - deleted the Temp folder and then tried to uninstall 9.1.1. I received the same 2330 error message.

Doing a search of error 2330 on this forum, I saw people recommending running a Chkdsk which I did. This repaired some errors, but it didn't help with the installation, I got the same error message.

I have tried to call Apple support but apparently they don't support iTunes unless you're running it on a MAC. I'm upset and frustrated and at my wits end. I know next to nothing about computers, which doesn't help ;o) I'd be grateful for any suggestions...

Good gracious ... it's been a perfect storm of issues. The 2330, the device filter trouble, and the ongoing issue with the GEAR drivers.

Plausibly, it might have been the device filter trouble (rather than the file-damage trouble) that's caused the initial grief with the GEAR drivers.

If that's what has been going on, now that that the device filter issue has been cleared away, perhaps we can get those drivers in.

Quit iTunes, restart the PC and try another standalone GEAR driver install. Does that get rid of the iTunes message this time around?

OK, did the GEAR install. It asked whether I wanted to modify, repair or remove, so I picked repair (?) Again, it took about 10 seconds to run (successfully). But I'm still getting the same error message. And again, i can import, but not burn.

I ran iTunes diagnostics again and its showing some new info (e.g., burn error codes) that you might, in your infinite wisdom, be able to shed some light on:

Yes, I think the diagnostics are the same. Still saying no upper drivers and burn code 4280.

Hi: Not sure is you saw this, but yes, the mssage still says No drivers in UpperFilters. I'm also getting 2 errors - 43 and 4280. Any idea what these mean? As mentioned, Windows Media Player is working properly for burns, the problem is just with iTuenes.
