Cracked screen of my new iPhone 4
Any ideas on what kind of sympathy I may get from Apple?

iPhone 4, iOS 4
I have a very unusual situation with my iPhone 4 and I guess I just want someone else's view on it.
I was in my living skills class at school and we were making food. While we were waiting for it to come out of the oven, my phone being completely fine before, I set it on the table and was talking to some of my friends and looking at a video on another friends phone. I turned back to grab my phone and check it and it was cracked at the VERY middle at the top and is cracked to the ear speaker and branches off around it, luckily not on the camera. I have no idea how it happened and my friends were all really confused also because not one of us including me had touched it. We think someone could have walked by and hit it or done something to it. But we all have NO idea what happened so really it could have been anything. I don't know what to tell the apple store, I'm going to a mall near Seattle this weekend and ANY help or advice for my situation would mean a lot. Please.
Thank you ahead of time for any help.
Got my phone from Verizon. Less than a month in, I drop my phone with the defender case on it and the screen cracks. I go into the Apple Store and they tell me that they no longer offer the one time replacement as a courtesy because they offer applecare plus. Applecare was never offered to me by verizon because it's a recertified phone. The folks at the apple store were very helpful but I understand their hands are tied. They also told me that my phone was registered in someone else's name. Verizon refuses to do anything about it and Apple's hands are tied. I have never been more upset in my life.
Okay so here's my story, I know I know, well I for one am very dissatisfied with Apples customer service right now. So well a couple of days ago I was at my little cousins house babysitting letting them play with my phone when one of them dropped it right on the screen, so anyways I phoned the apple store by my house for a solution to this problem and talked to one of the people, I forget who. Anyways they told me they could not help me with the crack because the problem was physical instead of technical. So yesterday I went and got the screen repaired from a store in a local mall, and then whatever connects to wifi stopped working today so I asked a manager at the apple store and he told me that because I got the physical problem fixed that he could not help me with a technical issue as its apples policy not too. I wasn't asking for a new phone or anything I was asking what I could do...help anyone?
You're upset with Apple because you had the phone "fixed" by someone who wasn't authorized to do so, using parts that are not legitimately available from Apple, and now Apple refuses to touch it...
Apple can't help you. You have a hardware problem that was directly caused either by the initial damage, or by a botched repair job from an unauthorized service provider.
Take it back to whoever "fixed" it to begin with.
Expensive device + little kids = not a very smart idea
got mine replaced for free in melbourne!
Just wanted people to be aware that I went to the Apple store tonight for a shattered screen and back of iPhone 4S. I was pretty much told the best they could do was swap the phone out for $199. Apparently if the phone is shattered there's nothing they can do.... Which by reading others' stories that's not the case. I'm not sure if it's a newer policy or if I was just fed a line of ********. I made an appointment with Genius Bar and felt like it was a huge waste of time. Not impressed.
My iPhone 5 had a shattered screen and I took it to RESTON, VA Apple Store. They did NOT help. They said it will be $150 to replace the screen. They did NOT want to reduce the price also. I dont think ALL the stores have any uniform policy. When I called APPLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, they said they can NOT guarantee anything. It is at the discretion of the stores to do it for less or charge you $150. To be precise, RESTON, VA Apple store is of no help in this matter. Earlier I did NOT get any help from the store for a different issue. This is my second one with NO LUCK. On both attempts, I spoke to a Lady Supervisor (IRSHID I guess). Tonight I spoke to a guy named GARRET.
