Video recording without sound error (iphone 4)

My video recordings have no sound. I´m not keeping any mic shut. I´m just hearing a loud swoosh if I check my recorded videos. Is it a software bug or do I have to visit my local dealer?

Thx

I have the same problem but not all the time. Out of 10 clips one may not have sound. Havent found the source of the problem yet.

OK...Try this, it just worked for me...

1. Get some headphones and plug em in

2. Play sum tunes on ur phone and ensure you can hear them thru the phones

3. adjust volume and when you see the volume bar, set it to the very middle (just for clarity)

4. Unplug de phones

5. You should see the volume bar jump to the left - adjust it and hey presto!

I figure I managed to mute it by accident, but for some reason the volume bar for the internal speakers and expternal speakers are two different things.

Hope that helps out there. If it does please check out my new web site, I would appreciate the feedback on how it looks.

NOTHING here suggested worked for me. My iPhone 4 just does not record sound when recording video. Just annoying static. It works as a phone. So, it is either some stupid software issue that Apple refuses to acknowledge or iPhone has two microphones, and one - the one that matters for video camera recording - is broken and needs to be replaced. I do not block it when I am video recording. The rebooting and restoring does nothing for this problem. Cleaning the hole with a needle did not help. This has been going like that for months, I just noticed recently - I have a bunch of videos of my son in snowboard park this winter with only static as sound - first I thought that was because all those videos were done outdoors in windy conditions, but now I realize that there was a hardware or software problem with my Apple device. I wanted to video my son at the concert of his school orchestra - and there of course sound does matter - this is how I noticed something is amiss. Can Apple be contacted (I mean getting a live person on the phone without having to give them a credit card in advance for chrissake!) so I can explain to somebody what is wrong so that when I send in phone for service they know what it needs to be replaced? Why there are no authorized neighborhood repair stores for issues like that? Like you can take a Mac to Small Dog Electronics but not iPod or iPhone. WHY?
