outlook for Windows not sending icloud mail

I have Windows 10, Outlook 2016. Worked fine for years. These past two weeks, however, I am unable to send mail thru my icloud account. I keeps asking for password. I tried deleting iCloud and the mail account, and reinstalling. Still does not work. The password is correct because it works on my IOS devices and logging in to icloud. Any help would be appreciated.
