Update unavailable with this Apple ID

Hi, I recently bought a MacBook Pro from B&H in New York and every time I try to update apps it gives me a message saying "This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled"

can you help me with this please?

If you're trying to update Pages, Numbers, Keynote, iMovie, or GarageBand on a new Mac, open the Purchases tab and click Accept.

If you're trying to update an application on a secondhand Mac, you need to delete and redownload it, and should erase the drive and install a fresh OS.

I would bring back to B&H and get exchange. Was this used that was bought there?

When you bring back to store, make sure the MacBook Pro they give you works correctly with no Apple ID attached to it before you leave store.

sounds like it was a used item.
