How to disable iPhone lock screen camera

I’m tired of taking pictures of the inside of my pocket. Others have asked with contradictory answers. Is there a way?

Bingo!

You’re idea didn’t work but it led me to another solution. In the same “accessibility” menu is a switch that controls “touch to wake”. With it off it takes a push of the side switch. Problem solved.

I think the real culprit is my dog. I carry the phone in an outside thigh pocket of painters pants. The pocket is loose and otherwise empty but just the height of my dogs head.

I've never taken a picture of the inside of my pocket in the over 11 years I've used iPhones. That might be thanks to using a protective case on it, which can also prevent other disasters.

There is no way to disable the camera from the lock screen, but it's pretty hard to activate it from the lock screen; you need to swipe almost all the way across the screen. That sounds like a neat trick in a pocket.

According to this site, it can be done, but the way you do it is by disabling 3D Touch: http://www.tomsguide.com/faq/id-3580420/flashlight-camera-lock-screen-guide-iphone.html

I thing there are settings for how hard you have to press to get it to happen. On my XS Max, I have to push quite hard, and then all it does is open the camera app. Taking a picture then requires clicking the photo button that is in a different position. So it would be almost impossible for it to take a picture in my pocked. It certainly has never happened to me.
