Magic Keyboard with Numerical Keypad
The center bottom key on the numerical keypad indicates the . (dot) and , (comma) symbol. It misconfigured as the . (dot), but how can it be changed to the , (comma)?

Bingo!
When I set the keyboard preferences to Danish, then the comma and dot symbols can be used alternatively with the option key.
Problem solved. (Not sure why it has to be Danish, but that seems to be the one which works...)
Well it may have to be set to an appropriate input source in order to work with the option key.
I do not know what the options are, but will return to the Apple shop tomorrow and find out wha input they have used.
The options are in System Preferences > Keyboard > Input sources. Then click the + symbol.
Yes, thanks for your willingness to help. I have tried many of the options of different input sources but so far no luck.
