Reinstalled apps

struggling to reinstall apps that have disappeared from my home screen. Keeps on saying installation failed, however I don’t have a problem with installing brand new apps that’s never been on my iPhone .

My iPhone keeps reinstalling apps. I was on my iPhone when all of a sudden, just randomly, all of my apps started re-installing. You know that grey square with the pie circle that is above an app when you are installing it? Basically what happened here, just that those apps have already been installed a long time ago and it was almost all of my apps that were “reinstalling”. I would really like to know what this was and if anyone had a similar experience
