Several Amazon customers have reported that their wallet-style iPhone cases with magnetic covers work well with the iPhone Xs or Xs Max to cause the phone to sleep or wake up. My Xs Max doesn't do this at all. Is this supposed to work, and is it a setting? (I thought this function was limited to iPads.)

This is an iPad feature and hasn't been implemented in any of the iPhone devices. Most likely the reviews are fake or people have raise to wake enabled and believe that the magnets are causing the phone to wake up.
