icloud family storage not showing on one phone

I have an iCloud 2Tb Family Plan shared between myself, my wife, my son, and my daughter. The family sharing works for my wife and son, but it does not register on my daughter's phone. The other iCloud family plan features do work on her phone, but her phone still shows the default 5GB storage, which is full. It says to upgrade I would be purchasing a plan. If I do that would Apple recognize that I'm really just bringing that phone into line with the plan that it should be on and that I'm otherwise paying for (and not charge me twice)? If not, how do I get my daughter's phone to recognize that it is on our iCloud family storage? I cannot find anywhere in OS12 to send an invitation.

Hey, matthew823,

That follow-up had some really helpful info. At this point, I think the best thing to do would be to get in touch with Apple Support on this. They will be able to pull up your account and look into this further with you, hopefully shedding some light on what's going on and - more importantly - helping you resolve it.

You can find a list of regional contact information right here: Contact Apple for help with Apple ID account security

Cheers!

Thank you, but none of those resources address my issue.

She has already been invited (and accepted) and is a member of the family sharing group. And the family sharing works to share purchases and Apple Music. But not for the iCloud Storage plan.

This is my problem. I cannot unite her and re-add her, because "children under 13 cannot be removed from a family." So I am not sure how to get her phone to recognize that it should be a part of our family's 2TB iCloud storage plan. On her phone, under shared features, purchase sharing, Apple Music, and Location sharing are all turned "on." However, iCloud Storage" is turned "Off," and to turn it "on" the phone says I would need to "upgrade" my storage plan (for example to the 2TB plan I'm already paying for).

I do wonder if I chose the 2TB plan if it would fix the issue, as it would recognize this was a family plan we're all ready subscribed to. On the other hand, I don't want to start being charged double for storage.

Hey, matthew823,

I see that you had some questions about sharing an iCloud storage plan with your family, specifically your daughter. I'm happy to shed some light on this if I can.

To start, I want to make sure that you check this article out which has some of really good general information about sharing iCloud storage with your family: Share an iCloud storage plan with your family. That is going to be the best place to start first, to make sure you have everything set up to work as you're expecting it to.

If you have everything set up as described on that page and it's still not working, I would recommend heading to this page here: Set up Family Sharing. Once you're on that page, you'll be looking for the section titled 'Invite people to join your family'. This page has the steps to invite someone to join your group, just in case your daughter needs an invite.

I hope that this information helps!

Best regards.
