iPhone keeps prompting me to enter a password for an Apple ID that I no longer use

my phone keeps prompting me to enter a password for an Apple ID that I no longer use - it appears to be linked to iCloud , whereas my usual ID is used for iTunes and is fine.

The problem is I have no idea what the password is and when I go to iForget to reset Apple tells me it is not an Apple ID.

How can i remove it from my phone without wiping the whole lot?

Check the App Store and iTunes Store to see if there are any updates for apps/purchases. A request for another Apple ID password is often caused by updates to apps/purchases that were made when using the other ID. Those purchases are tied to the other ID and can't be transferred. One option is to delete the apps/purchases made by the other ID and download them using the new ID if desired.
