FaceTime button greyed out in Messages

After updating to iOS 12.1.1, FaceTime video button that appears when you tap on someone’s name in messages seems to be greyed out. Because of this, I am unable to make quick FaceTime video calls. Note that I am able to call using FaceTime app.

On the device, if you go to Settings > FaceTime > see what is checked off under the You Can Be Reached By FaceTime At.

Restart devise. If issue persists, reset all settings:

settings- general- reset- reset all settings

if still not working

What kind of question is that? Obviously I have this person’s email and phone number that is registered for iMessages and FaceTime. Please read the description carefully. All I said is that the FaceTime video button is greyed out. I did not say I am unable to call that person on FaceTime using FaceTime app, but just not in the messages by tapping on their name.

I am sorry if the question I asked was useless to you. I am just trying to help you fix this problem. First, try going to settings>FaceTime and turning FaceTime on and off. If that does not work then try deleting this person contact and re-entering all their info in contacts. If all else fails, try going to settings > general > scroll all the way down and click reset then chose reset all settings.
