Can I get a virus from accidentally opening a dodgy attachment on my iPhone

I can't believe it, but I accidentally managed to open 2 dodgy email attachments on my iPhone from the same email!! Do I need to do anything to protect my phone or should it be ok?

Mail app spam attachments Hi, I was scrolling through my email on the mail app on my iPhone SE and accidentally tapped one of those spam bitcoin emails which opened it. I get those frequently, but this one had a .jpg attachment with it. The message looked like text (the old blackmail scam) and I trashed it before I could really see what was in it or attached. So here's my question, would the mail app download a .jpg attachment automatically? And if so, could that have included a virus that would affect an iPhone? Is there any need to reset the phone?

Virus on iPad? Using my iPad earlier today, I tried to open an attachment on an email. There seemed to be no content in the attachment. The sender (a trusted store) sent a second email that the store had been hacked, run anti virus, etc. I've deleted the email and the 'empty' file. My iPad is connected to my home network as is this MacBook Air, iMac, Apple TV, etc. Should I be concerned? Should I do anything else?

Unless you have jailbroken your phone, you'll be fine.
