Virus on iPad?

Using my iPad earlier today, I tried to open an attachment on an email. There seemed to be no content in the attachment. The sender (a trusted store) sent a second email that the store had been hacked, run anti virus, etc. I've deleted the email and the 'empty' file. My iPad is connected to my home network as is this MacBook Air, iMac, Apple TV, etc. Should I be concerned? Should I do anything else?

Is your iPad jailbroken? If it isn't, your iPad is fine. That type of infection (which auto send email to everyone in the contact list) normally sends out mail with a payload that executes on desktop or laptop computers. The attachment can't run on iOS systems.
