I see you want to know if you're able to challenge a group of friends instead of just one single friend. I'd be happy to provide you with information about this.

You can only invite one friend at a time, however, you can challenge multiple friends. Take a look at this article: Share your Activity and compete with friends with your Apple Watch

Challenge a friend from your Apple Watch

1. Open the Activity app on your Apple Watch.
2. Swipe left, then tap a friend. 
3. Scroll down, then tap Compete.
4. Tap Invite [name]. Wait for your friend to accept the invite.

i would love to be able to compete with more than one person at a time. Having to do one at a time will eventually get boring.
