Hardware or Software issues.

I have a new Mac Pro laptop and it' crashed three times in nine days. this is my first Macintosh. I have read Mac world and read a few articles. Should I get additional virus protection or is this common. I would appreciate the Feedback. I am running MacOS 12.13.6

Need help with crashing?

One way to get information quickly is by running etrecheck, a "discovery" utility. Its report is intended to be posted back on the forums, but an arbitrary 5,000 charter limit in the forum software updated last week keeps you from being able to do that in one post (temporarily takes two or three).

DO NOT add additional third-party so-called Virus protection to your already well-protected Macintosh computer. everything needed to keep your mac running just fine was included in the doc, except ONE: a drive on which to store your backup.

Macworld used to be a great print magazine, but they are having trouble paying the bills, and have resorted to pushing useless junk on readers to keep the light on. They make a lot of many by pretending to subjectively discuss "which antiVirus is best for you" and not saying the obvious: the one that is built into MacOS.

All those Makers PAID to be included in the article on anti-Virus.
