Can’t Use My 500 GB Storagd to Store Anything

There isn’t an option to store files on my iPhone local storage when downloading files from Safari, when storing data parsed from the Shortcuts app, when downloading files from my mail app, when transferring files from my computer, and I’m not going to list anything else, but there isn’t an option to store files locally anywhere. Why is this the case? Is the 500 GB model just for the specifications sheet? Can I expect a fix for this anytime before the newest iPhone comes out? Was this intentionally done or was it a mistake? Does Apple care?

It would help if you could actually write your problem clearly but I suspect you are upset that you cannot access file management with your iPhone. It has always been this way since iPhone OS 1.0, there is no user manageable file system.

Again, there is no user file management system in iOS so you cannot designate where you want to store a file. It has nothing to do with permissions it has to do with security and Apple's closed system. Also every app is sandboxed to you cannot move things from one app to another nor write apps (or shortcuts) to do so.

They put the folder for the Shortcuts app inside of the iCloud folder. The bottleneck was intentional. The Folder for the Pages app is located in the “On My iPhone” section. The user file management app for iPhone is called “Files.” Again, the placement of the folders were intentional.

Those were my problems. Here’s the details of just one. I’ve created a shortcut that downloads the texts to stories posted online and saves them as a .pdf. They’re basically books. However, I can only save the .pdfs to either iCloud or Dropbox. There is no support via Shortcuts to save the files or any other file to your phone’s local storage. Only to a cloud service. Apple owns Shortcuts. It shouldn’t be a permissions issue.
