I received a message from this mail asking me to take a survey about my ipad. The letter was in the style of an apple and with links to the apple site. I followed the link and passed the survey.
Was it a letter from Apple or is it phishing?
And if it was phishing, what should I do?
Will formatting help the device?

It doesn’t sound like an official Apple survey. If you did not enter any personal information, then you should be fine.
The answer remains the same. If you did not provide personal/financial information at the site, ignore the email.

No, an iPhone cannot get a virus.
