Date and Time on Custom Templates - Pages 7.3

I've created custom templates but the Date/Time does not auto update on opening and has to be changed manually every time. The Mac standard templates don't have this problem and I've tried copying their Date/Time as a base for my own templates with no luck. Pages 09 had a box to tick for auto update of date/time but it has disappeared from Pages 7.3. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Pages '09 v4.3 was the last version that offered auto-update of date/time fields in templates and documents. All subsequent releases of Pages v5 thru 7.n lack this feature. It can be achieved in these versions by using an unadorned, one-cell table with the appropriate date/time formatting and the now() function.

Note that Pages '09 v4.3 no longer opens templates, existing documents, or can create new documents after an update to Mojave 10.14.
