What do people use ipods for anymore since smartphones do so much of the same things?

Very much still being used. Many parents can see them as devices to let theri kids play games without having to pay for a data plan and the privacy/safety concerns that can come with it
I have an iPod Touch 6th generation and I still use it. Just not as much as my Samsung phone. Howewer, it's not ignored.

My Android phone doesn't have as much storage as a128GB iPod Touch, and I like iTunes.
I still use my iPhod 6th gen and my iPhoneSE.
I'm a diehard flip phone user and refuse to get a smartphone but I want the same apps and portability.

I don't own a smartphone, Just an iPod which costs half the price and is half the size. For a phone I use an old fashioned flip phone that costs me $3/month ($10 + fees every 120 days).
