option + arrow keys (left/right) is suppose make the cursor skip words
option + arrow keys (left/right) + shift works the same way, and selects the words
The weird thing is: the second thing works (selecting words) but de first thing does not (skipping words).
Any idea what may cause this? The keyboard is set to US. I have tried others, but nothing helps.
using: macOS Mojave 10.14.2, 13 inch Mac Book Pro, 2017
MacBook Pro Retina (2015 and later)

1) All application (Apple and non-Apple like: TextEdit, Notes, Safari, Visual Studio, Atom, etc)
2) I personally did not change any keyboard shortcuts and I checked all of them
3) I did just do that and for the other user it works!!!
So I checked all the differences between the users. Turns out disabeling iSnap fixed it!
So thank you very much with solving my problem. It has been annoying me for months. Thank you very much!

1) In what application are you using these shortcuts? Can you try in different applications, say Mail, TextEdit, Safari? Does the behavior differ in any of them?
2) Is it possible that there is a custom keyboard shortcut that is redefining this behavior?
3) Try logging in to a different user account. Do the shortcuts work correctly there?
