iTunes on my iMac doesn't recognize my iPhone 6

My mac's OS is Yosemite 10.5.5 and my iPhone is at 12.1.1. Could it be that I need an upgrade on my mac?

iTunes no longer recognizes my iPhone 6s I have an early 2011 Macbook Pro, so I'm unable to install Mojave. My operating system right now is OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 When I connect my iPhone 6s (updated to 12.1.3) to my computer, iTunes says I need to upgrade to Mojave (which I'm unable to do with my 'elderly' Macbook). Do I have any options? Am I out of luck just because I have an older computer?

yes your iOS version is too new to run on Yos. Sorry.
