duplicate music files or playlists

Every time I hook up a device to my laptop, I end up with duplicate playlists. That wouldn't be a problem except I don't know where to go to remove the duplicates. It's easy on the phone or pad, just not my laptop. What's up with that??

Duplicate Playlists in iTunes Why does duplicate playlists appear when syncing iPod Touch, 5th Gen., to my Dell A-I-1 desktop. Always keep settings on automatically sync with iPod and connect via Wi-Fi when connecting iTouch to the computer via USB. Tried deleting the duplicate playlists but they keep returning whenever I go back into iTunes with my iTouch connected.

Synced playlists are showing duplicate songs on my iPhone I've gone so far as to disable music syncing with my iPhone and reenabling it. No luck. My playlists all have duplicate songs in them on my iPhone even though there are no duplicates on my Mac. Anyone else seeing this?

Use iTunes' menu:

File > Library > Show Duplicate Items

Thanx for the response. I think I stumbled on the solution myself. I had my iPod hooked up while trying to delete the playlist in my iTunes account on my laptop. Due to that, the "Duplicate" prompt was not highlighted !! Once I disconnected, I was able to delete the duplicate playlist. Perhaps this may help anyone else with this same issue.
