My iPad 2017 is running iOS 12.1.1. My other iOS devices have now updated to iOS 12.1.2, including my old iPhone 6s. The iPad when I check for updates says iOS 12.1.1 is up to date. Is this true that that iPad doesn't need this update or is there a problem.

My iPad 5th gen, 2017 updated to iOS 12.1.3 without problem. That is curious. I would restart the iPad and try again. The iPad Air 2 is actually 2014, which may be the problem.

I have found restarting a device solves a lot of problems.
iTunes 12.7.4 is NOT the latest, current version of iTunes.
iTunes is up to 12.8.x, now.
You need to update iTunes.
Actually, for Windows and MacOS Mojave machines, iTunes is up to 12.9.X.
Thanks, I will update iTunes on my MacBook Pro. Not sure why iTunes has not been listed as needing an update in the App Store.
