My new Iphone XS Max keeps dropping calls; is there a fix for this problem

I may finally have the answer! According to a co-worker who was at the Apple Store several times over this issue... Go to settings>Cellular>Cellular Data Options - and make sure the Enable LTE is turned to Data ONLY and not Voice & Data. He said since he has done this a few months ago, it has stopped dropping those 2 second calls. It DOES NOT do anything to your voice calls. I did it yesterday and am still talking just fine on the phone... and, it hasn't dropped one yet.
I have a “version 2” SIM card and no dropped calls yet but I’m sure it’s just a matter of time. Only replaced yesterday. But now there is an intermittent muffled “ting” when on the phone. I will keep you posted on developments in the coming days.
I haven’t been “plagued” with call failures like some. And my phone has been behaving properly since I installed IOS 12.3. I just installed 12.3.1 so hopefully my good luck will continue. Fingers crossed!
My wife is still using IOS 12.2x And she hasn’t experienced any dropped calls yet.
It appears IOS 13.1.3 is working, no dropped calls. However, after the update I could connect to a website but after closing Safari it would not connect again until I rebooted the phone.
I contacted Apple Support and they suggested resetting the network. So I did a reset and everything has worked since. Although some networks seem to take a bit longer to connect, once connected it works fine.
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note this reset wipes out all your WiFi connections and passwords.
Yes it looks like Apple could care less! They have our money already.
New SIM card and the issue is still there. Happening all day today.
Mine has been OK for about 6 weeks now. 3rd replacement phone and several resets later
