There Are Purchased Items On The Iphone That Have Not Been Transfered to your Itune Library

I have read all the post on this topic. My side window is open, I right click on my iPhone icon, I choose "transfer purchases", and when I reopen iTunes it STILL give me this warning message when trying to update the iPhone. I am tired and frustrated about something that seems so simple.

(when updating from the iTunes desktop application) Most 'solutions' point to the action [File->Devices->Transfer...] But many people - like me - don't experience a solution in the action. I suspect the reason for this persistent message is that I have apps on my phone that don't exist in the appstore anymore. I'd like to confirm or correct this suspected cause. Therefore I have the following questions: Is there a way to get a list of purchased items that aren't transfered to iTunes? Will the Itunes desktop application download the purchased items from the iPhone or does it try to download a copy from apple? Do purchased items indeed include apps? The only list that the iTunes desktop application provides is a playlist of purchased music. iPhone X: iOS 14.2 iTunes v12.11.0.26 on Windows 10 20H2

Keep Getting Error: "There are purchased items on the iPhone..." I want to update the iOS on my iPhone XS. I have, multiple times, gone to iTunes, File>Devices>Transfer Purchases...but it gets to "Preparing to transfer" and just stops and doesn't do anything. When I try to update the iOS...I then continue to get the message, "There are purchased items on the iPhone that have not been transferred to your iTunes library. You should transfer these items to your iTunes library before updating this iPhone. Are you sure you want to continue?" Ideas??

Could your device contain any purchases from another Apple ID? Transfer purchases wouldn't copy these over if the computer wasn't authorized for that ID.
