iPhone X waterproof or water resistant

Don’t even think to put even anywhere close to the water. We get our first one a more then a year ago. That was really good. Kids take to the bath, even to the pool. Was perfect. We love it. But the screen have issues so the Apple replaced with new phone. We thought it’s great. We get new phone! How great customer service. Brand new, second day my little one take to the bath and right away get water damaged. It was water inside everywhere. Get in the service, talk with customer support, doesn't matter. It’s water damage. No warranty and you can’t proof you didn’t dive in the ocean. And the best! When they checked the phone the first thing what they did remove the left over seals. Try to Proof the phone was defected! No way. If you get phone which may not really waterproof you would newer know till you get screwed. And when you get screwed it’s going to be pricier.my whole house is apple. To change will cost a fortune. So I am ******. Just don’t believe that ******** about waterproof. Most of them yes but some not . And if you are the lucky who get that too bad. Because the apple will leave you alone.

From the Apple website for the X series:

iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max are splash, water, and dust resistant and were tested under controlled laboratory conditions with a rating of IP68 under IEC standard 60529 (maximum depth of 2 meters up to 30 minutes). Splash, water, and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and resistance might decrease as a result of normal wear. Do not attempt to charge a wet iPhone; refer to the user guide for cleaning and drying instructions. Liquid damage not covered under warranty.

Thanks. I know now. But when you are buying the phone from the provider they advertise as “waterproof”. But it’s true. When they try to sell its 1 meter;30 min. After you get and you believe what they advertise without reading the small letters you are your owne. My issue is the customer service. You can’t proof if the phone was defected. But thanks for the info.

Marry Christmas!😃
