For some reason or another, the DVD Player app disappeared over the last few months. I've searched every way I can think of in our MacBook Pro and cannot find it. All downloads I find are for the update to the player, not the actual installation of the player. We host driveway movies often and use the SuperDrive to play discs so getting this back would be most helpful. Any suggestions? Running Mojave 10.14.2 on the early 2015 MacBook Pro.

If it's not in the system library for some reason, you could try just installing the DVD player app from the macOS Installer image with the Suspicious Package app.
look in Machintosh HD > System > Library > CoreServices > Applications
for DVD Player.app
If it is not there, then you will need to reinstall Mojave
That seems to have worked. I'll plug in the DVD drive soon and fully test it. Apple changed the icon for sure, but it wasn't in my dock anymore and was definitely gone when I would search the hard drive. Tried the update packet and that did nothing because there wasn't anything here to update. But now we're on the road to up and running. Thank you for that.
