No DVD player app?

Last night I connected my CD/DVD player/burner to my new MacBook Pro M1 Pro and nothing opened. Didn't see the DVD app in the dock, like I do the rest of the apps I migrated to my new Mac, so I checked in the Applications folder ... and there is no DVD player app! Why on earth would apple delete this?? Just because there is no super drive doesn't mean people don't have DVDs to play.

I cannot find the standard DVD app in the AppStore. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to use?

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!

Just found on here that starting with Mojave - Apple HID IT!! You have to go to /System/Library/CoreServices/Applications/DVD Player.app !!! It's not in the applications folder and doesn't come up in a spotlight search. Wow. WHY would Apple hide it like this!! I wasted so much time on this!! It's a bit infuriating!! Ugh!!
