Does App Store apps contain viruses

My question is can apps have viruses or does Apple go through them

I downloaded this app that had 4.3 stars and over 22k reviews

it was a survey app for money.

it was kind off weird going through surveys different parts of the app, my iPhone isn’t slow.

do you think I should be worried?

Virus Hi so I clicked onto a website too watch a free movie it took me to another website and then said my iPad had 2 viruses on it . Now the thing is it told me to download an app but my iPad isn't letting me download any apps is there any way I could get these viruses off my iPad without using any apps ? URGENT!!!!! and it says 28.5% is been virused

Apps from the App Store are tested by Apple and don't have malware.
