I am doing some screen captures in order to explain certain process steps for users. Unfortunately the screen captures don't include the cursor (arrow or hand or ...). Is there an option to include those things? Even better, where on my Mac can I find the image files for the various cursors?

I use Acorn.app for these cases, and other free and commercial editing tools will work.
Preview.app can add arrows, boxes, and loops, too.
Open the image in Preview, and open the Preview tools.
The standard cursor image just doesn’t stand out all that well in a screen capture.
Editing the images allows you to number the more complex sequences, too.

What I want in this case is essentially what the user will actually see on their screen which is why I'd like the actual cursor images.
Preview.app does have a full screen capture mode that in fact includes the cursor. I was able to extract both the arrow and the finger, clean them up and make their backgrounds transparent. Not a very clean way to do it but effective enough and I can scale it if needed.
However, it would be cleaner for various technical reasons to find and incorporate the actual primary images.

FWIW, in a "DUH" moment, I did a Google search for "Mac cursor" and discovered a huge trove of everything from the basic set to very fanciful "replacements" for the originals. And apparently even some Windows users replace their cursor set with the Mac cursors.
Where are the image files for the various MacOS cursors?
