Hey ,
i usually run my alchemy samples off my external harddrive and up until today i have had no issues for some reason this evening when i started a logic project alchemy has come up empty ?? my apple loops which also run off my hard drrive is working fine and the ex2 samples. everything but alchemy ??

By empty you mean you don't see the presets window? Make sure you're on "Browse" not "Simple": Upper left button in Alchemy.
You may also try to refresh the library: File -> Refresh Library in Alchemy.
A screen shot of your Alchemy window may also be helpful.
