Pixelated screen on brand new (refurbished) 2018 MacBook Pro

I just purchased a refurbished 2018 MacBook Pro and when I woke it from sleep a couple days ago the screen was all pixelated (photo included below). It was stuck like that and I was unable to input anything on the keyboard or otherwise to correct it, so I simply closed it and reopened it...and everything was fine. Since then I haven't had any issues.

However this does make me nervous going forward considering the cost of the machine and the fact that I literally just bought it. I'm still within the 14 day return period and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on what this could be, and whether or not it is worth the hassle of returning and finding something else. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated, thanks.

Yeah I probably phrased that wrong. What I meant by "not being worth the hassle" is if the issue is so insignificant that a return would be silly. I'm not the most savvy person when it comes to things like this, so I guess I was curious if I was overreacting. My first inclination was to take it back asap.

Thanks for the reply and the included link. I've actually come across that same link when doing some searches on the issue, but doing things like resetting the SMC never made much sense to me because it was a one-time thing. So I would have no way of knowing whether an SMC reset (or some other form of troubleshooting) actually fixed anything. I guess I'm looking for something that is a bit more diagnostic as opposed to a fix. Because if there's anything wrong at all I'll probably just take it back.
