Siri shortcut for Google Assistant

When I try to use the shortcut for google assistant Siri says I must open the App. Isn't that what the shortcut is for? What am I doing wrong? I went to Google Assistant app, chose Add to Siri, recorded Hey, Google but when I say Hey, siri...Hey, google she tells me to open app. Any help appreciated.

Right after I upgraded to iOS 12 this feature was working with no manual intervention. After I upgraded to iOS 12.1.2 now it asks you to open Google Assistant manually.

Google this and you see that right around November everyone was cheering that now they can say Hey Siri, OK Google to launch Google assistant. Then in about 2-3 weeks ago everyone is reporting that now they have to manually launch assistant.

I hope this is enough for you. If not I suggest drinking less of the cool-aid.

I thought you are smart enough, if there's any iOS update, the app developer also has to make it work on newer iOS version.

That's why, there's a beta version for developer to test against.

Note: if you use Google search for alien abduction, you get many as well but it doesn't make it real.

Also if you like Google harvesting your data, please do so.

Siri doesn't need to use/know all your data to be of service.

Maybe Siri is not for you. Since your data is not important to you, go get an Android so you will feel right at home.

Why do you think Google paid > $3 billions be the default search engine on iOS?

What is so OK with OK Google? Why do you think you get <> 30 iOS apps from Google for free, because they love you?

Who was caught hacking Safari so that they can follow you all over the web?

As said, let Google harvest your data if you don't mind, I like my privacy.

Good luck to you, end of discussion.

I wish so much that SIRI would use all my data and provide me with useful service. Just that SIRI is only good to operate the phone. Once Apple users get a taste of Google assistant, many of them will give up iCloud services and move it to Google. Do you think out of millions of Apple users what percentage chose Apple because Google is evil? 1%? Not even. No one trusts that our data is safe with these companies. That cat is out of the bag. You get my data, at least give me useful services.

I want SIRI to understand what I say 99% of the time. I want it not to wake up each time I say the word "Serious" LOL. I want it to NOT say, "here is what I found on the web". Like it is 2010. Read the result back to me you POS.

that is all.
