HL-DT-ST DVDRW GX50N Media external CD station and iMac 2018 with Mojave. Station and disk does not show on the screen on this Mac, and ca only be accessed by Disc Utilities. On my MacBook and older iMacs, everything works fine. Is there a problem with this USB SuperDrive and Mojave?
Problem solved by the help of Apple Support. The problem was in the Finder setup menu where it was not ticked off in the square allowing CD and DVD to show on the screen - see screenshot:
Now, everything works fine! Thanks to Apple Support!

There is a bug in Mojave. It doesn't display blank disks. You can still burn disks by creating a burn folder, adding files, right/control click on the folder and choose "Burn…" from the contextual menu.

I see. Then I don't know. I have an Apple SuperDrive on my iMac Pro running Mojave and it sees, displays, and plays disks with no issue . Someone else my have an idea.
Glad it's resolved. Normally the setting is marked by default.
