Tethering Speed

Hi,

I use my iPhone XR as personal Hotspot and I connect my iPad 5 to the internet using this hotspot.

When I use Bluetooth between iPhone and iPad I get 0.8 MBps download speed, when I use WiFi I get 25 MBps (this is OK = LTE speed).

iPad 5 has Bluettoth 4.2 (=25 MBps) and XR should have BT 5.0 (50 Mbps).

Why are the Download rates so low with Bluetooth?

Tethering using iPhone hotspot I do not have wifi connection at a remote location but do have 5G service. When connecting my iPhone to the internet using Speedtest, my download speed is about 100Mbps. When I connect my MacBook Pro to the iPhone hotspot (by direct cable, USB or by WiFi), Speedtest reports my MacBook download speed as 0.5 Mbps! It is admissibly slow. I've turned off all background app refreshing on the iPhone and reset network settings. Any ideas are appreciated.

Hotspot unusably slow I just switched from LG G7 to a iPhone 14. I never had any issues with using a hotspot with my android, which was 4G LTE. Now that I started using the iPhone 14 on 5G, the hotspot speeds are unusably slow. I need to be able to connect using a hot spot for work. (Main reason I upgraded phones.) The Phone’s internet is not having any issues and when I switch to an android phone I have no issues. Have others had this issue? Does anyone have a solution?

Hotspot between 7 plus and 12 pro max disconnect automatically also after resetting both phones. Good Morning beautiful people, I am sharing my internet from my iPhone 7 Plus to my iPhone 12 Pro Max using the Hotspot feature, both phones has the latest iOS and the same Apple ID, but unfortunately every time I leave my 12 Pro max for some minutes I found it disconnected, I tried to find any settings to solve the problem on both phones but couldn’t find, I did a clean factory reset using my Mac with the DFU mode but I still have the same annoying problem, anyone please know a solution please? I already tried to use Bluetooth connection instead of wifi but the internet speed was very very slow ( on Bluetooth I receive 0.2 to 0.5 Mb/s but on Wifi Hotspot between 20 to 50 MB/s) and I tried to connecting using Bluetooth and Wifi, the Wifi will disconnect automatically also. Thanks in advance.
