MacOS Mojave Safari "Can't find server" - changing website address

When I am on a Pampered Chef consultant's website and then enter the web address for the main website, Safari changes the address I enter to part of the main website address and then can't open it. The address I actually entered was www.pamperedchef.com but it keeps changing it to the partial pws address... How can this be fixed without deleting my cookies (and therefore logging out of any programs I'm in...)

Macbook (2015 or later)

Yes, I had to clear out the cookies under preferences. it’s the only way I could get to the main website. But 1) it’s never happened before, until the latest update, and 2) I shouldn’t have to. There’s an actual link between the two sites, but Safari reverts to the partial URL, taking the last part of the address where I’ve been instead of the new address i’m trying to get to. It overrides my destination URL whether I click the link or enter is manually.
