Unable to connect Apple TV to wifi network

Trying to set up a new Apple TV and the following error keeps coming up. Apple tv couldn’t be set up. Check your network connection and try again.

we’ve had an older Apple TV connected and did not have a problem with the wifi connection. We have reset the wifi and still the problem persists. All of our other devices using the same wifi have not been effected and are working just fine( mac, iPhones, tv’s and pc). I have tried to connect Apple TV manually and with my iPhone and it’s till says wifi connect failed.

If your Wi-Fi has a captive portal (login page with username and password) then Apple TV is not designed work with that. It can’t be more complex than selecting a network name and entering a Wi-Fi password.

Be aware of the immediate surrounding items next to the Apple TV box, as some items may cause interference and block a wireless network connection. Potential sources of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth interference - Apple Support

Try wired ethernet.
