duplicate calendar entries when icloud syncs with Outlook

This link describes the problem I am having. Basically when icloud for windows syncs with Outlook, all calendar entries get duplicated, and it is impossible to change or delete the duplicate entries. It started in October, and makes it very difficult to use the calendar features at all. Is there any fix for this yet? Thank you so much!

This is an issue with the Apple product known as iCloud for Windows and its plugin that works with Outlook. This is Apple's issue. It is a lot more widespread than Apple wants people to know and they need to stop sitting quiet on the sidelines. The workaround is only that - a workaround, and one that has to be done regularly if busy people want to keep things tidy in their calendars. As of today, it has still not been addressed by Apple. They have known about it for a minimum of 6 months now; when should people expect answers?

Hi,

unfortunately, these answers do not help. I believe this is a bug in the iCloud plugin for MS Outlook.

I have the same issue, but one needs to describe it more clearly. It doesn't happen always, but ONLY when the icloud plugin in outlook is "offline" (i.e., you are creating a calendar entry in outlook while not connected to the internet). As soon as the icloud plugin becomes online again, all entries that were created offline are duplicated. It appears that they are synced to the cloud and then back again, but not associated with the original entries that were created offline.

What's more, the entries that were created offline cannot be deleted or modified in any way in Outlook. They also appear ONLY in outlook, not on the iphone or on the web icloud. It's purely an artifact of the icloud plugin.

The only way to get rid of these entries is to sign out of icloud on the PC, deleting all calendar entries, and sign in again.

Thank you for clarifying this issue Starr.C and for posting this thread on the Apple discussion forum ctwinatlanta. It seems Microsoft want to point the finger at Apple, and Apple want to point the finger at Microsoft. This is clearly a widespread issue that needs a fix (see above link to Microsoft discussion). I too have experienced this problem since around October 2018. Hopefully Apple is investigating whether there is a technical glitch with the iCloud plugin for Outlook and I'm sure we all look forward to hearing that this issue has been resolved!

If I understand your post correctly, you are using iCloud for Windows on your PC and when you sync your Outlook account calendar events are duplicated. Duplicate events makes it difficult to keep track of schedules. I’d like to help.
