Bypass iphone backup

I never put encryption on my backups. However asking for a password that I have no idea what is it. The problem is that I have contacts on that backup that I desperate need. Which alternatives do I have to recover it? Is there any default password besides: 0000, 1234, Apple ID Password, Phone Entry Code, etc...???

Hello leeanne97,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you are unable to restore an iTunes backup because there is a password. To help with your situation, please follow the step in the section titled "If you can’t remember the password for your encrypted backup" in this Apple resource, like restoring an iCloud backup instead. If you use iCloud to sync contacts, you can check iCloud.com for these contacts as well.

About encrypted backups in iTunes

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup

Keep your contacts up to date on all of your devices with iCloud

Cheers!
