Cat bit charger to my MacBook Air.

Well...my cat bit the charger to my MacBook Air and the battery icon suddenly displayed an “X” and stopped charging.

When I removed it and plugged it back in, the battery still displayed an “X,” but it woils not charge.

The screen looks normal. So I tried a different charger for another MacBook Air and the same “X” was there. But that charger is working fine on the other Air. So, I suppose it’s not the charger. WHAT SHOULD I DO? 😭🤔

Hi Sneezingisterrible,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities, it's great to have you here. If I understand your post correctly you've noticed your power adapter is not charging your battery and seeing a "X" in the battery icon.

First, let's try resetting the SMC on your Mac and then test to see if your power adapter will charge your Mac. Check out the following article that walks you through performing that reset. How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac

Also, About Mac notebook batteries is a helpful resource to help troubleshoot batteries.

I hope you find this helpful.

Best regards.
