what does a nw.js screen after startup mean?

since a couple of months after startup of my MBP a grey screen with the letters nw.js opens. does anyone have any idea what this is for and if there is a way to get rid of it, without doing any harm to my setup? It doesn't appear in my applications folder...

Window of unknown source Help! I have a small window that appears a short time after I start up that I can't get rid of any other way except by restarting. It's all gray with "Passwords..." at the top. When I hover, the top part (like the menu bar area) turns blue, but nothing else happens at all. The only time it allows anything else to cover it is when I take a streaming app like Hulu fullscreen. It even stays in place if I present in Keynote or PPT. I'm running a Mac Mini M1 2020 with MacOS Big Sur v11.4

I have also found this issue and have not determined what initiates having the nw.js screen. I find it appears on my task bar at the bottom - I can close it with seemingly no problem. I have not seen that process when I use a VPN - but I don't have enough data yet to be sure. It is certainly a javascript related operation.
