magic mouse and keyboard keep disconnecting from bluetooth

After updating to Mojave m y magic mouse and keyboard keep disconnecting at random intervals from the bluetooth.

I tried resetting the bluetooth from it's Debug menu and still getting disconnected.

Also tried deleting and keyboard preferences from Finder->library->preferences and still getting disconnected.

This is really frustrating to have to keep and extra off-brand mouse just to reconnect the mouse/keyboard on a 4k+ $ machine.

Hi - I also had this problem and "solved it" by deleting the Android File Transfer application. The Apple Support folks were unable to solve this, and the Apple Store gave me a second, brand new iMac within a week of getting the first one. Of course, the problem remained until I discovered this thread :-) (Discussions with Senior Apple Techs included learning that they do not access Community threads. They rely solely on what is listed in their internal information channels.)

Question: Is there an application equivalent to Android File Transfer that can be used without the Bluetooth problem? I need some way to get to my DAP (digital audio player) to add/delete music files. Thanks!!!

I can confirm deleting the Android File Transfer app did it for me too. Hadn't had an Android in years and didn't realize it was still on my Mac. Did a Migration from an old to new Mac a few days ago and set my magic mouse and keyboard up and have been having connectivity problems since. I read this thread and said, "pfffft, I deleted that a long time ago." BUT low and behold, there it was. Phew.. Thought I was gonna have to take drastic measures. Thanks to you and everyone who confirmed this fix.

Greetings sattod,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It seems like you have Bluetooth devices that are intermittently disconnecting. One thing that can cause this to happen is if there is wireless interference. I would recommend you use this article to help troubleshoot the issue.

Okay, happened to catch the bit about Android File Transfer and it just so happens that I DID have to download and install that about a month ago. This issue seems to have happened about the same time. So just deleted Android and we'll see what happens! Perhaps I will owe Apple an apology and can blame Microsoft who made the Android FT app! Appears there may be some issue with deleting "all" of the Android File Transfer app per some online chatter; however, could only find the app itself and it seems to have deleted. Also restarted iMac.

Thanks for config issue berabert1 .... hopefully we can close out this discussion!

My configuration is exactly the same as yours bertabert1 except for my memory being 24GB and my energy saver preferences being set to default.

Like I say mine has been perfect since deleting the Android File Transfer app, so I have to thank you for that as this disconnecting constantly was sending me nuts and I would have gone back to High Sierra if I hadn't seen your post. I can see people have the same problem with High Sierra but I never did have a problem with it.
