magic mouse and keyboard keep disconnecting from bluetooth

After updating to Mojave m y magic mouse and keyboard keep disconnecting at random intervals from the bluetooth.

I tried resetting the bluetooth from it's Debug menu and still getting disconnected.

Also tried deleting and keyboard preferences from Finder->library->preferences and still getting disconnected.

This is really frustrating to have to keep and extra off-brand mouse just to reconnect the mouse/keyboard on a 4k+ $ machine.

Hi - I also had this problem and "solved it" by deleting the Android File Transfer application. The Apple Support folks were unable to solve this, and the Apple Store gave me a second, brand new iMac within a week of getting the first one. Of course, the problem remained until I discovered this thread :-) (Discussions with Senior Apple Techs included learning that they do not access Community threads. They rely solely on what is listed in their internal information channels.)

Question: Is there an application equivalent to Android File Transfer that can be used without the Bluetooth problem? I need some way to get to my DAP (digital audio player) to add/delete music files. Thanks!!!

Bertabert1,

So, I hope this WILL keep working for you; however, while it worked for me for about a day, it started doing it again. Can you give a summary of your configuration so both myself and others can keep track of what is or isn't working on various configurations? Thanks.

Mine is High Sierra on 3 month old iMac.

I'm VERY frustrated with this issue. Should NOT be happening at all and Apple seems to be mum on it. Can't even use my keyboard when this happens - have my trusty, VERY old, wired microsoft mouse that works great, but no keyboard option ... yet anyway. Doesn't seem like a 3 month old, fairly expensive, iMac should have this problem!!!

Glad to hear it :) It's still working for me, too. In response to 3mstrrktek7, my configurations are as follows:

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017)

Version Mojave 10.14.3 (18D109)

Processor 3.4 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory 8 GB 2400 MHz DDR4

Graphics Radeon Pro 570 4096 MB

Under energy saver preferences, I have everything unchecked except for the first option (Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when display is off). Not sure if that makes a difference, though. After deleting, I emptied it from my trash and restarted. Sorry I can't be of more help :(
