magic mouse and keyboard keep disconnecting from bluetooth

Okay, so I've read through this entire thread and I'm not seeing an Android File Transfer app anywhere on my brand new Mac mini. I just got my computer up and running today. I am using the wireless keyboard and Magic Mouse that I used on my old Mac mini. It worked fine with my old computer, but now both my wireless keyboard and mouse keep disconnecting every couple of minutes. It's driving me crazy and I have work to do on this computer. I even updated my system software tonight and it's still a problem. What is going on? I'm ready to throw this wireless Apple junk in the trash and go out and buy the "primitive" USB wired mouse and keyboard. So much for new technology. Thanks Apple.

I have tried but it seems to be not working in my case.

There is an additional problem of Bluetooth connectivity after switching on which is new to my iMac. It takes time to connect to the mouse & keyboard.

Just bought the Magic Mouse 3 and new Magic Keyboard. Both keep dropping out and disconnecting from my Mac Book pro - recent model. Tried the factory reset option in Bluetooth. Didn't work. If I can't fix this within 24 hours will return everything to Apple store for a refund. I can't keep stopping my workflow. Not good.

I'm still getting this problem. I never had the Android transfer app, it's a brand new Mac Mini and Magic Trackpad mk1, always worked well on my old Mini (2011) all the way up to High Sierra. Have tried deleting Bluetooth.plist, disabling handoff and turning off internet sharing, still happens a few times an hour, really frustrating!

Same issue, but don't have Android File Transfer installed (tmk). - random disconnects, Keyboard comes back on within 20 seconds, the mouse often takes 30+ seconds to reconnect... annoying.

This is driving me nuts. Updated my late Macbook Pro 2018 a few weeks ago. The magic mouse, and keyboard constantly cycling between Connected and Connection Lost. All on its own. Ironically my Microsoft Natural keyboard has no problem staying connected. I've tried jamming the battery cover on the mouse like many have suggested on Google. It's not a battery problem.

And yes, it's happening everywhere not just inside my house. Never had this problem prior to the update.

Experiencing same issues here across two macbook pros, 2016 and 2018. Each in separate location with own mouse and key. No android app. Removing other bluetooth devices doesnt help. Bluetooth connect/reconnect notification continously popping up when i am not at my desk with mouse and keyboard, e.g. in another room. Really disruptive for workflow. Cant the OS just ignore the mouse and keypad if they are far away/continously reconnecting. Very poor experience for work.

I have the same issue with both my bluetooth keyboard and mouse cutting out every few seconds! It's insane. (I have to use the Keyboard Viewer app to type some of this.) I don't have Android File transfer on my mac (running High Sierra). This only started happening a couple of weeks ago but it has rapidly gotten worse. This is a serious usability problem that Apple should be addressing. Anyone have any other suggestions? (yes, I've tried turning Bluetooth on and off, reconnecting the devices and debugging - nothing works).

Just found this thread. I've been also having this problem since getting my Mac mini (2018). Running Mojave here. Can't Catalina due to software incompatibilities. Anyone have a suggestion beyond the ones mentioned here? I've tried them all and I'm not using Android File Transfer.

I deleted it on March 1st and to be honest I haven't been on my computer an awful lot since then but I have not been disconnected since that date! Hopefully it is a fix!

Oh, sorry, forgot to add, it does seem like this mainly happens after I wake it up .... never had this happen before this though.

Thanks for the suggestion about just accessing the micro SD card. I have contacted A&K regarding this, but have not yet heard back from them. I'll follow-up again shortly and keep you posted.

I always have to open a Finder window to access it after I insert it in the SD card slot. It’s located on the left hand side of the finder window where you’ll also find any other drives on your iMac.
