I've been using Airplay devices for several years with no problems however now while my device is showing up the device is greyed out. Yesterday I had the same problem and I solved it by restarting my pc but I don't want to reboot my pc everytime to solve this as it can take over 10 minutes to reboot. Before it was quite simple to get this going but now something has changed. Any ideas? TIA.
Try restarting the Bonjour Service.

ok I did that and it asked for a reboot of the pc which I did and now it is working again but it always does after a reboot so I'll have to wait and see if it stays working after several hours. Thanks anyway for the tip.

Odd, restarting a service from the services.msc control panel wouldn't normally trigger a reboot request.

OK well it did in this instance... if I have to do it again I can try and not reboot and see what happens.
